Lancaster County bed and breakfast, Amish Country, PA

No matter what season, you are invited to walk through the gardens.

Lancaster County soil is the richest non-irrigated soil in the country.   That's why everyone grows flowers!  When we moved to the inn, the only flowers were on the lilac bushes.  Now, after twelve years of planting and growing - we are starting to develop into a gardener's delight.

We are also blessed to have so many local small nurseries - they carry everything from the common red geranium to plants usually only available by mail order.  Whether it is a small Amish greenhouse or a large-scale commerical nursery that grows tens of thousands of mums every year, we know them all!  So be sure an ask for our favorite nursery list.

The nurseries are now open - early March, 2009!

In bloom right now in our flower gardens:

Bleeding Heart
