Small Town Crier Town Criers were the local news source in colonial times. They announced everything from town meetings and proclamations to warnings of Indian attacks or arrival of ships. The crier usually used a bell, attracting as much attention as possible to get the word out, and then traveling to another part of the town repeating his message. Here the town crier is shown in front of town hall in Terre Hill, Pennsylvania. This tiny town is nestled among Old Order Mennonite and Amish farms in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Sizes: 13 3/4" x 12" - Suggested Mat Colors: Williamsburg Green Outer Mat, Nutmeg Inner Mat
